The Center for Materials Innovation and Technology (CMIT) is established with the vision of becoming a premier hub for cutting-edge research and international collaboration in the field of advanced materials science. CMIT serves as a critical intellectual foundation, generating the core knowledge required to power Vietnam’s strategic technologies. By bridging the gap between fundamental science and industrial application, we aim to position Vietnam as a key player on the global innovation map.
Elevate Research Excellence: To raise national research capabilities to a global standard by conducting frontier research in critical pillars. We aim to integrate Vietnam into the elite network of global material science institutes through high-impact, Top 1% scholarly publications.
Accelerate Technology Transfer (Lab-to-Fab): To bridge the gap between academic discovery and industrial application. We focus on transforming core technologies into practical solutions for strategic industries by fostering robust University-Industry collaborations like the “VinFast Uni-Lab” model and facilitating the commercialization of Intellectual Property (IP).
Optimize Resources & Infrastructure: To create a highly efficient ecosystem that maximizes the utility of state-of-the-art facilities and shared laboratories. This includes unifying physical assets with a centralized material data platform, enabling data-driven discovery, and ensuring that partners have access to the specialized tools required for breakthrough innovation.
Cultivate Future Scientific Leaders: To develop a world-class pipeline of human capital. We are committed to training the next generation of scientist-engineers and technology leaders through rigorous mentorship, international exchange, and exposure to real-world industrial challenges, thereby contributing to the high-quality workforce required for Vietnam’s modernization.
